Food Bank Special Events
The Food Bank regularly holds events that are designed to raise awareness of our service, promote food collection and raise the necessary funds to ensure we can continue to help local people in a crisis situation.
Forthcoming Events:
- Saturday 6th March 2010 - Collection at the MK Dons match with Leyton Orient at the Stadium MK. Volunteers required to help man a stand at the MK Dons fun day starting at midday until kick-off at 3pm.
- Thursday 8th April 2010- Supermarket collection at Sainsbury's Bletchley. Can you spare an hour or two between 9 - 5pm to give out Food Bank shopping lists inviting customers to buy one extra item.
Just a couple of hours make a massive difference - so please do check your diary and let Sue thefoodbank@mkcc.org.uk know if you can help at one of the above events.
Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year
The Food Bank is the Milton Keynes Sainsbury's local Charity of the Year until May 2010. This is a great opportunity for The Food Bank, as Sainsbury’s are helping us with food donations, fund raising, volunteering and sharing of expertise. Why not buy an extra item or two as you shop and donate them in the Food Bank trolley on the way out!
Harvest Festival
In 2009, 41 Churches, 44 Schools and many local organisations and businesses helped The Food Bank, by holding a Harvest Festival Collection. Click here to see the full list and check out our photo album for harvest photos.
Why not join this band of supporters and donate your harvest collection for 2010 to The Food Bank. We can provide you with literature to help you promote your Harvest Festival and we are also happy to come and do a talk about our work, which will touch the hearts of your audience and help them to appreciate the importance of their donations to local people.
